Just a brief word of reassurance to those who have devoted a lot of their valuable time and energy reading my blog and sharing my journey over these past several months.
I have not disappeared.
Let me first bait you a little bit and tell you, there is SO much more to this story! So, so, so much more.
In the ten days since my last blog post, I have endured a two-day air travel nightmare that should have taken just a single afternoon. That alone could have been a blog post from hell. Since my arrival in Salt Lake City, Utah, I have been felled with the flu. I am typing this blog entry from a strange bed in a puddle of my own sweat whilst coughing up my left lung.
It has been a less than conducive atmosphere for writing.
Although I will be away from home until February 17, I had fully anticipated keeping you all on board for this crazy ride. I just have to ask your indulgence while the driver of this short bus takes a few extra days to recuperate.
Trust me.
It will be worth the wait.
Hope you recover quickly and completely!
ReplyDeleteHope you get well soon!
ReplyDeleteBeing sick is bad enough. Having the flu in a hotel room is horrific. We'll wait patiently while you get better.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Michael, and thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteYou take care of yourself. We're still here.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. A good story can always wait.
ReplyDeleteThe best laid plans.... I have no doubt the wait will be worth it. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you recover quickly, it is nasty this year! I anxiously await your continued story!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well soon, and looking forward to the next part of the story. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteDear Mike,
ReplyDeleteI have been enjoying your blog and hope that you are recovering from the flu.
On a different matter, are you aware that Governor Pence has proposed cutting the funding for the Genealogy Department at the Indiana State Library? I heard about it because I'm a retired librarian. I am hoping that the word has gotten around in the genealogy world also, so that genealogists will contact their representatives to restore the funding.
Michael, Thank you for letting us know what is going on with you. I am sorry you are sick. That is miserable. As others have said take good care of yourself. We will wait patiently for the next post.
ReplyDeleteThank you for filling us in. Sorry you've got the flu. Hope you recover quickly. I will wait patiently for further episodes.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteCyndi Ingle has been commenting on her flu experience. Did she infect you, too?
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Michael. This flu going around is a nasty one.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you who do not know already, the flu kicked my butt... but the subsequent pneumonia I got thereafter nearly killed me. I am on the mend, and I will be posting soon!!!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are on the mend. The flu is awful. I was diagnosed with it after dramatically passing out on someone on my way to the bathroom at the back of the plane I was on. I'm pretty sure everyone believed that the well tanned tourist had his fair share of tequila in Mexico. But a trip straight to the ER from the airport diagnosed influenza B. Bad strain-and 10 days later I finally felt half normal again. I now look at someone with the sniffles that announces "I have the flu!" With eyes that say..."you have no idea"😕 Get well,be well. Looking forward to more of your story.
DeleteThanks for the update... Like many others I'm sure, I have been checking back daily! Hope you are on the mend, but it takes awhile to bounce back from pneumonia, even at a young age! After you are all better make sure to get the pneumatic vaccine!
DeleteSadly, you are not alone - the flu then followed by pneumonia seems to be the 'trend' this year.
DeleteOuch! Hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteAm relieved to hear that you are finally on the mend.
ReplyDeleteI hate waiting.
